An Introduction to Flanders Lace featuring Sally Schoenberg - Modern Flanders lace is a 19th century revival of a five-holed grounded lace that was made in
the 1600's in many parts of lace making Europe. The Flanders lace working diagram can be particularly confusing.
At many pins a pair of bobbin pairs are worked. The frequent exchanges of passive and worker pairs crank up the level of confusion even more. In this DVD Sally tames the diagram! She shows how to identify the elements of modern Flanders lace on a diagram and how to use those components to make a piece of Flanders Lace. In this program three edging patterns are used to teach the essential techniques; 5 - hole ground, half of a ground stitch, joining in 2 times, inputs, outputs, snowflakes and the overlapping finish. The skills learned can be used to make the many Old and Modern Flanders patterns that are listed in the book resource list which is also included.lace.

Color In Torchon - featuring Jean Leader.
This program will show how using colors can transform a simple Torchon pattern and provide endless possibilities for experimentation. The first two patterns are designed to show how pairs move through the lace when using different stitches and techniques. This knowledge is then used to control where the colors move in the following three patterns for an edging, square mat, and bookmark. An additional pattern for a square mat is also included. The instructions assume that the lacemaker already knows how to wind bobbins, make a pricking, and work basic stitches. But starting, finishing, working ground stitches, spiders, cloth stitch diamonds, roseground, footside edge, and two different fans are explained step by step. Running time 3 hours and 30 minutes.
