Bobbin of the Month

There are21 different clubs to choose from: 

 

 

1. Flower a Month - Flowers from January through December.  Month is printed on the bobbin.

 

 

2. State Flower a Month - a collection of 45 bobbins as a few states share flowers. State is printed on the bobbin.

 

 

3. Garden Flower a Month - a collection of 26 flowers - one garden flower for each letter of the alphabet.  The flower name is printed on the bobbin.

 

 

4. Wild Flower a Month - a collection of 26 flowers - one flower for each letter of the alphabet.  The wild flower name is printed on the bobbin.

 

 

5. Memorable Women of Lace - set of 10 bobbins.  Each bobbin will have on it in three lines 20th Century Memorable Women of Lace  name and award they gained, e.g. "Elsie Luxton MBE"

 

 

6. Famous Women of History - set of 12 bobbins each with the wording "Famous Women of History together with the name of the woman. Set includes:  Cleopatra, Boudicca, Joan of Arc, Queen Elizabeth 1st, Florence Nightingale, Queen Victoria, George Eliot, Emmeline Pankhurstk, Amelia Earhart, Marilyn Monroe, Margaret Thatcher and Mother Teresa.

 

 

7. Famous Men of History - set of 12 bobbins each with the wording "Famous Men of  History" together with the name of the man. Set includes:  Julius Caesar, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Michelangelo, William Shakespeare, Ludwig van Beethoven, Napoleon Bonaparte, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Orville Wright, Winston Churchill and Neil Armstrong

 

 

8. King Henry VIII and his six Wives - set of 7 bobbin portraits including: King Henry VIII, Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr.

 

 

9. Nursery Rhymes - Set of 24 bobbins each painted with a scene from the following Nursery Rhymes: Row, row, row your boat, Wee Willie Winkle, Rub a dub dub, Hickory Dickory Dock, Humpty Dumpty, Rock a bye baby, I saw a ship a sailing,  I had a little nut tree, Little Jack Horner, Jack & Jill, Little Bo Peep, Little Miss Moffet, This Little Pig, Hey Diddle Diddle, Mary Mary, Old King Cole, Dr. Foster, 3 Blind mice, Sing a song of six pence, Ride a cock horse, Ring a ring of roses, Old Mother Hubard, Pussy cat pussy cat and There was an old woman.

 

 

13. 1000 Years of English Costumes - Set of 24 bobbins each having a painted figure dressed in the costume from the following years: 1050, 1350, 1550, 1620, 1750, 1794, 1800,1838, 1846, 1860, 1881, 1895, 1909, 1912, 1917, 1928, 1930, 1939, 1947, 1965, 1967, 1977, 1984 and 1990. The year will be painted on the bobbin.

 

 

14. The Twelve Days of Christmas - Set of 12 bobbins - a partridge in a pair tree, two turtle doves, three French hens, four calling birds, five gold rings, six geese a laying, seven swans a swimming, eight maids a milking, nine ladies dancing, ten lords a-leaping, eleven pipers piping and twelve drummers drumming.

 

 

15. Pewter Inlay - Ebony bobbins that are inlayed with pewter bands, spirals and dots.  They are based on traditional designs and production methods of the 19th century.                                     The pattern is cut into the ebony. It is then filled with "molten" pewter, and then cleaned up so that the bobbin can then have its final shaping and sanding. It is difficult and time consuming to produce.

 

 

16. Egyptian Gods and Godesses - Set of 12 bobbins. Each bobbin has an Egyptian God or Goddess painted in fine detail.  The name of the God/Goddess and their meaning is painted on the bobbin.  The list of Gods is as follows: Isis - Queen of the Gods, Amon - Lord of all Gods, Anrt - Goddess of Fertility, Anpu - God of the Dead, Ankhet - God of the Nile, Asar - God of the Underworld, Hathor - Goddess of Love,  Set - God of Storm, Geb - God of Earth, Reshpo - God of War, Bast - Goddess of Cats, and Kheper - God of Creation.

 

 

17. Famous Buildings - This international set of bobbins will consist of 24 bobbins each painted with a Famous Building from around the world.  The bobbin will have a picture of the building along with the name of the building and the country from where it is located.  To date buildings include: Big Ben - Great Britin, The Taj Mahal - India, The White house - USA, The Leaning Tower of Pisa - Italy, The Eiffel Tower - France and Sydney Opers House - Australia. More buildings will follow soon.

 

 

18. Butterflies - Set of 12 bobbins - 6 British butterflies and 6 Foreign butterflies from around the world. Let these lovely bobbins land on your pillow soon! British butterflies: Gatekeeper, Large White, Garden Tiger, Common Blue, Peacock and Red Admiral. Foreign butterflies: Symothoe Sangaris (Africa), Argema Mittrei (Madagascar), Armandia Lidderdalei (China), Papilio Paradisea (New Guinea), Heliconious Cybia (Peru) and Kallima Inachus (India).

 

 

19. Celtic - Set of 12 bobbins with unusual celtic designs, each beautifully handpainted.

 

 

20. Orchids - This set of 12 Orchids will be sure to brighten up your pillow! Each is painted in fine detail - six British and six Tropical. British Orchids include: Bee Orchid, Loose Flowered Orchid, Common Spotted Orchid, Fragrant Orchid, Early Spider Orchid and Military Orchid. The Tropical Orchids include: Masdevallia, Ada aurantiaca, Punctata, Pathiopedilum, Angraecum Leonis, Oncidrum Baricosum and Laeliocattleya.

 

 

21. Beatrix Potter - Set of 27 characters. Bobbins will be mailed out approximately the first week of each month. Shipping is generally $1.47 for one or two bobbins and goes up accordingly for more bobbins.  If the total of any monthly bobbin order exceeds $50.00, the package will be insured. Upon receipt, mail a check for the total amount made out to Lacy Susan ALONG WITH THE  MAILING TUBE. Total cost for mailing the empty tube back with a check inside the tube is $1.47. If you fall behind on payment, future bobbins will not be mailed until payment is received.  If you chose to pay in advance, arrangements can be made.

Cancellation policy: Cancellation of  the club can be made at any time. However, the maker needs 60 days notice for this, so I would need to be contacted that far in advance as well.
